The album kicks off with a mix of bold declarations and smooth grooves, starting with the title track I Told Them… featuring GZA. The track sets the tone, blending Afrobeats beats with GZA’s sharp lyricism for a track that feels both timeless and contemporary. Standout cuts like Sittin’ On Top Of The World, a collaboration with 21 Savage, and Cheat On Me with Dave showcase Burna Boy’s knack for crafting infectious hooks that dominate the airwaves. Meanwhile, tracks like Virgil and Big 7 offer a more introspective look at success and self-reflection, proving the artist’s range beyond just high-energy bangers.

The inclusion of hip-hop icons like RZA on 12 Jewels and J. Cole on Thanks elevates the project, bridging Afrobeats with global rap culture in a way that feels organic and exciting. The bonus track Talibans II with Byron Messia adds a final layer of intrigue, hinting at the album’s layered storytelling and Burna Boy’s willingness to experiment.
