Drake – Buried Alive Interlude ft. Kendrick Lamar
Drake’s "Buried Alive Interlude featuring Kendrick Lamar" stands out as a rare moment of raw introspection on the expansive Take Care (Deluxe) project. Produced by Noah "40" Shebib, alongside the duo Dwayne Richard Chin-Quee and Dwayne "Supa Dups" Chin-Quee, the track blends hypnotic beats with a hauntingly reflective narrative. As the seventh track on the album, released in 2011, it offers a glimpse into Drake’s lyrical depth, where Kendrick Lamar’s presence adds an extra layer of poetic tension.
The interlude unfolds like a whispered confession, its sparse production letting the voices of Drake and Kendrick Lamar take center stage. The collaboration feels organic, with Kendrick’s distinct cadence complementing Drake’s signature flow, creating a moment that feels both intimate and cinematic. The track’s genre-defying energy—rooted in soulful production and layered storytelling—makes it a standout piece from an already influential album.
"Buried Alive Interlude" remains a testament to Drake’s ability to craft emotionally charged music, even in a brief interlude format. Its inclusion on Take Care (Deluxe) underscores the project’s willingness to explore darker, more contemplative themes, all while maintaining the album’s signature blend of vulnerability and strength. For fans of introspective rap, this track is a must-listen.
