Drake – IMY2 ft. Kid Cudi
Drake’s Certified Lover Boy closes with a standout moment in "IMY2," a track that blends introspective lyricism with the raw energy of Kid Cudi’s guest appearance. Produced by Harley Arsenault, the song builds from a moody, synth-driven intro into a hypnotic groove, where Drake’s signature flow meets Cudi’s signature vulnerability. The chemistry between the two artists shines through in their shared emotional depth, creating a moment that feels both intimate and expansive.
At number 19 on the album, "IMY2" serves as a fitting closer to Certified Lover Boy, offering a reflective yet uplifting send-off. The track’s production balances warmth and tension, with Arsenault’s work lending a cinematic quality to Drake’s verses and Cudi’s ad-libs. Their dynamic interplay—where Drake’s polished delivery contrasts with Cudi’s unfiltered honesty—adds layers of meaning to the song’s narrative.
Released in 2021, "IMY2" captures the essence of Drake’s ability to craft deeply personal yet universally relatable moments. The collaboration with Kid Cudi elevates the track, making it a standout piece in an already strong album. Whether it’s the melancholic undertones or the infectious rhythm, "IMY2" proves to be a memorable closer.
