Future – Afterlife
Future’s "Afterlife" stands as a haunting yet hypnotic closer to the late 2018 collab album Future & Juice WRLD Present… WRLD ON DRUGS. Crafted with the eerie precision of Wheezy and DY, the track blends Future’s signature melodic trap with a ghostly, atmospheric edge. The production pairs raw, breathy vocals with a pulsing bassline, creating an otherworldly vibe that lingers like a dream half-remembered.
At track 13, "Afterlife" serves as a melancholic yet immersive finale, where Future’s delivery shifts between whispered confessions and soaring ad-libs. The track’s hypnotic rhythm and layered synths evoke a sense of detachment, as if drifting between life and something beyond. It’s a rare moment where the album’s darker themes find their most evocative expression.
Released in 2018, "Afterlife" remains a standout moment in the album’s journey, blending Future’s signature introspection with the collaborative spirit of WRLD ON DRUGS. The track’s hypnotic production—handled by Wheezy and DY—ensures it feels both intimate and expansive, a fitting send-off for an album that redefined emotional trap.
